Full Manufacturing and Packaging Capabilities:
Four manufacturing sites and five packaging sites allow us to
handle production runs of all sizes, with a focus on our Innovation Center.

We promote digitalization and the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) at all of our factories.
As such are prepared to respond to requests actively and flexibly for virtual factory tours,
audits and production control during the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • Constructions for the Innovation Center, our new R&D base, have been completed in November 2022.
    An R&D base for cutting-edge formulation/capsule-related technologies and proprietary raw materials, the Innovation Center features good manufacturing practice (GMP)-compliant development and production sites for our original UniORV® formulation technology.
    In coordination with the Application Development Center (ADC), the Innovation Center will also support endeavors aimed at developing new products for our customers.
    Based on technology and scientific evidence, we at Sunsho Pharmaceutical will devote ourselves to the social issue of extending people’s healthy life expectancy and continue to create new value through co-creation with internal and external partners.

  • The Nanryo Plant manufactures animal and vegetable soft capsules and has one of the largest soft capsule manufacturing capacities in Japan. By combining the craftsmanship of skilled workers with state-of-the-art equipment, our formulation technology enables us to accomplish what others cannot, encapsulate active ingredients and content solutions with a high powder content. In addition, our skilled and certified inspectors guarantee absolute quality, and we are committed to delivering products that satisfy our customers.

  • The Atsuhara Plant began operations in 2013 with a focus on manufacturing jelly formulations and seamless capsules. It also boasts one of the largest production volumes of seamless capsules in Japan for a single plant. We will continue to strive as a facility that provides unparalleled QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery), focusing on cutting-edge formulation technology and absolute quality in each formulation.
    We will continue to pursue our vision of a sustainable factory, with the goal of becoming a "100-year company, 100-year factory" through factory operations that take both manufacturing and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) into account.

  • Oobuchi Factory is a dedicated powder manufacturing plant located in a corner of an industrial park at the foot of Mt. Fuji. In a clean room with air conditioning and temperature/humidity control, we manufacture health food products in the dosage forms of granules, pills and hard capsules.
    We aim to be a factory that can provide products that satisfy our customers through proper manufacturing and process control on a line that ensures high quality and quantitative output flexibility. The Oobuchi factory has received Health Food GMP, DS-cGMP and Shizuoka Prefecture Mini-HACCP accreditation.

  • The Kuzawa plant is Sunsho Pharmaceutical's only dedicated pharmaceutical plant. The plant produces high quality seamless capsules of ethical pharmaceuticals using manufacturing equipment developed in-house. State-of-the-art automated inspection machines are used to inspect all capsules, and automated packaging lines enable integrated manufacturing from stick packaging to final packaging.
    Our manufacturing staff is trained in pharmaceutical GMP and is familiar with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). By delivering safe and reliable products to our customers, we hope to continue to be the unsurpassed partner for all those involved with the Kuzawa plant.

  • Sunsho Pharmaceutical's five packaging plants are capable of producing a wide variety of packaging forms according to customer needs, product concepts and sales formats. These forms include aluminum pouches, plastic bottles, jars, three-way seals, sticks, PTP and decorative boxes.
    As manufacturing professionals, we actively endeavor to enhance quality and functionality on a daily basis because packaging is a crucial process for protecting, distributing and communicating products.
