November:November: Sunsho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was founded (in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka).

1994

August: The subsidiary, Sun Capsule Co., Ltd., was founded.
November: The Kuzawa Plant was completed (in Kuzawa, Fuji-shi, Shizuoka), and began manufacturing soft capsules.

1995

June: The Tokyo Sales Office was opened (in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).

1999

April:The Kuzawa Plant began manufacturing hard capsules.

2000

November:The Oiwa Plant was completed (in Oiwa, Fujinomia-shi, Shizuoka), and began manufacturing soft and hard capsules.

2001

August: The Osaka Sales Office was opened (in Osaka).

2003

April:The Kuzawa Plant began manufacturing seamless capsules.

2004

March:Sun Capsule’s Fujinomiya Plant acquired the license for manufacturing pharmaceuticals.

2005

January:The Manno Plant was completed (in Manno, Fujinomiya-shi, Shizuoka), and began manufacturing plant-based soft capsules.
April:The Oiwa Plant acquired the MINI HACCP certification from Shizuoka Prefecture.

2006

January:Sun Capsule’s Fujinomiya Plant acquired the licenses for manufacturing quasi-drug products and cosmetic products.
April:Sun Capsule’s Kuzawa Plant acquired the license for manufacturing pharmaceuticals.
June: The Obuchi Plant was completed (in Obuchi, Fuji-shi, Shizuoka Prefecture), and began manufacturing tablets.
September:The Oiwa Plant, Obuchi Plant and Kuzawa Plant acquired “Organic JAS” certification.
The Obuchi Plant acquired the license for operating a confectionery manufacturing business.

2007

July:The Obuchi Plant acquired “Dietary Supplements GMP” certification (from the Japan Health and Nutrition Food Association).

2008

March:Takashi Kondo was appointed as Chairman and Representative Director.
Kazuhiro Shijo was appointed as President and Representative Director.
June: The Oiwa Plant acquired the license for operating a soft drink manufacturing business.
August: Sun Capsule’s Manno Plant acquired the licenses for manufacturing pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

2009

February:The Obuchi Plant acquired “Dietary Supplements GMP” certification (from the Japan Health and Nutrition Food Association).

2010

March:The new Head Office was completed (in Oiwa, Fujinomiya-shi, Shizuoka).

2011

May:Sunsho Pharmaceutical won the Technology Award at the Ifia JAPAN 2011.

2013

January:The Atsuhara Plant was completed (in Atsuhara, Fuji-shi, Shizuoka).
February: The Atsuhara Plant acquired the license for operating a soft drink manufacturing business, and began manufacturing jellies / mini drink products.
The Oiwa Plant had a photovoltaic system (48Kw) installed.
Sun Capsule’s Manno Plant acquired the license for manufacturing veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturing business.
April:Sun Capsule acquired the license for manufacturing and marketing Type 1 pharmaceuticals.
August: The Atsuhara Plant acquired “Dietary Supplements GMP” certification (from the Japan Health and Nutrition Food Association).

2014

February:Sun Pharmaceutical sponsored the HOIPPO Project.
June: The Head Office was relocated to Atsuhara, Fuji-shi, Shizuoka.
August: Takashi Kondo resigned as Chairman and Representative Director.
December:Merger of Sunsho Pharmaceutical and Sun Capsule.
The Obuchi Plant was registered as an NSF-GMP facility.

2015

February:Seiichiro Matsumura was appointed as Chairman, Representative Director and CEO.
August: Ro Imamura was appointed as Senior Managing Officer and CFO.
September:Yoshiharu Matahira was appointed as Executive Officer and Deputy Lead of R&D.

2016

January:Yoshiro Uchizono was appointed as Executive Officer and General Manager of Human Resources and Administration.
December:Kazunaga Yamada was appointed as Senior Managing Officer and CMO.

2017

January:The Fukuoka Sales Office was opened (in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka-shi, Fukuoka).
April:Ro Imamura was appointed as Vice President, Executive Officer, CFO and General Manager of Business Management.
Kazunaga Yamada was appointed as Senior Managing Officer, CMO and General Manager of Production.
Takayuki Watanabe was appointed as Executive Officer and General Manager of Quality Control.
